Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,

Asian Mainstream Productions is working with Lionel Galiste a thirty year member of FANHS (Filipino American National Historical Society) and an active board member to produce a documentary short film on Filipino residents of Vallejo entitled” “Brown Baby Boomer: Growing Up Filipino in Vallejo California”. Lionel is the son of Filipino Immigrants from the 40’s and 50’s and grew up in Vallejo. This film will record the interviews of Filipino Americans that grew up in Vallejo during the 60’s and 70’s and what they witnessed as first and second generation Filipino Americans. The stories of daughters, sons, cousins, and siblings of Filipino immigrants that came over during World War II and worked in Vallejo and the surrounding Bay Area, their experiences included racism and segregation to name a few. Approximately 8-10 interviews that will cover stories of immigrant hardships, work discrimination and the assimilation of Filipinos in America, particularly in California will be recorded. But also what the future holds for them and their descendants.

We are asking you to contribute to the creation of this film by donating to www.asianmainstream.com/news for our campaign on “Giving Tuesday”. This is an important documentary to put forth as Filipino-Americans are beginning to be more recognized across the country with the emergence of Filipinos such as Jo Koy, Olivia Rodrigo, Lou Diamond Phiiipps and Dave Bautista to name a few and believe it or not, are the second largest Asian-American group in America.

We appreciate all your donations as no donation is ever too small! There will be a level of sponsorship page to follow with perks according to donation amounts.
